Set of 4 original vintage travel posters promoting tourism to Germany. 1. Westphalia The Rafhaus in Munster, a well-known and much-visited landmark. The Gothic structure was heavily damaged during World War II, it was rebuilt true to the original from 1950 to 1958. Published by the Reichsbahnzentrale fur den Deutschen Reiseverkehr, Berlin. Fair condition, staining, tape marks, pinholes, creasing, folds, tears. Country of issue: Germany, designer: Ernst Krahn, size (cm): 74x50, year of printing: 1930s; 2. Wurttemberg Lichtenstein Castle, a Gothic Revival castle in the Swabian Jura of southern Germany. Designed by Carl Alexander Heideloff, the castle overlooks the Echaz valley near Honau, Reutlingen, in the state of Baden-Württemberg. The modern castle was inspired by Wilhelm Hauff's 1826 novel Lichtenstein and was built in 1840–1842. Published by the Reichsbahnzentrale fur den Deutschen Reiseverkehr, Berlin Fair condition, staining, tape marks, pinholes, creasing, folds, tears, paper losses. Country of issue: Germany, designer: Ludwig Schaller, size (cm): 74x50, year of printing: 1930s; 3. Thuringia The Rudelsburg, featuring a photograph of Rudelsburg hill castle on the east bank of the river Saale above Saaleck, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. The Rudelsburg was built in the Middle Ages by the Bishop of Naumburg and served to secure trade routes such as the Via Regia through the Saale Valley. Printed in Germany by Oscar Schneider, Mayence. Published by the Reichsbahnzentrale fur den Deutschen Reiseverkehr, Berlin Fair condition, staining, tape marks, pinholes, creasing, folds, tears, paper losses. Country of issue: Germany, designer: Joh. Muhler, size (cm): 74x50, year of printing: 1930s; 4. Germany Wants To See You featuring a bright coloured image of Lubeck, The Burgtor, the northern city gate of Hanseatic Lübeck, now in Germany, built in 1444 in late Gothic style. It is one of two towered gates remaining from the medieval fortifications, the other being the more famous Holstentor. Text below the image reads - Information and Hanbooks from all Tourist Agencies and Travel Bureaus. German Tourist Information Office, 665 Fifth Avenue New York City. Poor condition, large paper losses, tears, creasing, staining, tape marks, pinholes. Country of issue: Germany, designer: Richard Friese, size (cm): 74x50, year of printing: 1920s.
