Martially Marked Colt Single Action Cavalry Revolver, 1875. Serial number 17553, .45 Colt caliber; barrel marked on the top 'COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG. Co. HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.'; round ejector rod head; frame marked 'PAT.SEPT.19.1871/PAT.JULY.12.1872' and 'U.S.'; ordnance sub-inspector mark 'J' on the barrel, ejector housing, cylinder, trigger guard and back strap; underside of barrel marked with 'P' proof mark, cylinder also marked 'P'; walnut grip with A.P. Casey cartouche on the left side; all matching serial numbers including on the frame, trigger guard, barrel beneath the ejector housing, cylinder, and butt. Barrel lg. 7 1/2, overall lg. 13 in. **Antique firearms are sold as collector's items only. We do not accept responsibility as to the shooting safety or reliability of any firearm.
