CALIKESH (EST. 2020) Khaïma, 2024 signed (on the reverse) Moroccan Siroua wool, Saffron and Indigo dyes 82 x 42 in. 208.3 x 106.7 cm. Footnotes: Provenance Courtesy of the artist Artist statement: Badaoui starts her process of work by studying contrast and light of the Mojave Desert. Nature is her main inspiration, then she will use different medium such as pastel pencil sanguine, paint, oil. After this, she will recreate her art into a digital version and it will be transforming into a Moroccan rug made in Taznakht, Morocco. Using local wool and dyes (saffron, indigo for this piece), all handmade knot by knot.
