A 'US' SURCHARGED FRENCH MIXED MODELS INFANTRY MUSKET, 1770s. 44 7/8 in., .75 caliber barrel engraved on the tang 'M1763' and with a 'US' stamp at the breech; model 1770-71-type lock marked 'Manufacture/de St. Etienne' and with a 'US' stamp on the tail; walnut stock with iron furniture and steel rammer with button head and plain end. Overall lg. 60 in. Condition: Iron parts have been cleaned and have varnish coating; lock has a replaced cock; stock has scattered dings and dents; action functions.
