A JEREMIAH SNOW-ATTRIBUTED AMERICAN OFFICER'S HANGER, Springfield, Massachusetts, late 18th century. Brass hilt with branch on outer side of counter-guard, plain knuckle bow connecting to an urn-form pommel, black-painted cherry grip with spiral carved groove; curved single-edge blade with false edge at the tip and single narrow fuller. Blade lg. 26 3/8, overall lg. 31 3/4 in. Condition: Brass toned to yellow, hilt is a little loose on the blade tang; blade is toned to mottled gray and has a few very light nicks on the blade edge.
