A late 18th century French ormolu and marble mantel clock The dial signed Jubel, Paris The arched case surmounted by a foliate draped urn, the sides with overflowing cornucopias to either side of the dial, the panelled plinth base on four knurled toupie feet, the 4.5' Roman and Arabic enamel dial with elaborately pierced brass hands, the brass twin spring barrel movement with tic-tac escapement and shaped back plate with silk suspension and outside countwheel striking on a bell on the house and half hours, with winding key and two pocket watch keys for suspension regulation, 36cms high Footnotes: Provenance Purchased from Gregory & Co. of 27 Bruton Street, Berkeley Square, London. The clock was exhibited at the 1956 Antique Dealer's Fair and Exhibition, where it was purchased for £68. The receipt states that the clock was exhibited without the bezel. A replacement was later found and before it was collected, the clock was serviced by J. Kinner, of 78 Heath Street, Hampstead for £5.. Buyers' Premium and Charges


For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:

Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.

A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.

VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
