EMERALD AND DIAMOND BROOCH AND RING 1st: Emerald and diamond ring, 1974 Cushion-shaped emerald Old brilliant-cut diamonds, approx. 0.50ct total 18 carat gold London hallmark Ring size approx. Q½ (hoop off-round) 2nd: Emerald and diamond brooch Oval-cut emerald Brilliant-cut diamonds, approx. 2.00cts total Length of brooch 5.2cm Total weight approx. 12.0g (2) Footnotes: OVERALL CONDITION Some surface wear to the hallmarked and unhallmarked metal (white metal mount of brooch testing as 17ct gold, possibly plated). 1st: Inner hoop with London hallmark for 18 carat gold, date letter t for 1974. Hoop off round and misshapen with faint sizing line visible under closer inspection. EMERALDS 1st: emerald measuring very approx. 6.5 x 5.4 x 4.7mm, 2nd: 7.00 x 4.3 x 2.5mm. Both displaying a bright light medium green hues with good transparency, typical inclusions eye visible, more prevalent on the brooch with some surface reaching and minor chips to the facet edges. Ring emerald with abraded facet edges and minor nicks to the facet edges under closer inspection. DIAMONDS Bright and lively. Buyers' Premium and Charges
For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:
Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.
VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
