A Very Fine Pair Of French 22-Bore Flintlock Silver-Mounted Pistols By Vigouroux A Bordeaux, French Silver Hallmarks For 1798-1809 With octagonal sighted polygroove rifled barrels each inlaid with a line of stamped gold stars along the top flats over two thirds of its length to the gilt muzzle, the top flats at the breech covered in gold and engraved at the rear, gold-lined touch-holes, the bottom flats at the breech stamped with indistinct barrelsmith's name and 'Tordu', foliate engraved tangs each incorporating the back-sight, silver-covered signed rounded locks each with blued gold-lined pan, blued cocks and steel-springs, figured full stocks each with peaked pommel and chequered grip, the latter bordered with inlaid silver wire lines and gilt dots centred on small mother-of-pearl roundels, mounts comprising side-nail plates, one engraved with foliage and the other as a flaming grenade, escutcheon engraved with owner's monogram within a silver wire laurel wreath, butt-cap with a flower-head centred on the retaining screw, trigger-guard with foliate finial and engraved foliage on the bow, blued adjustable set triggers, ramrod-pipes engraved with diagonal lines, the rear ones each with foliate terminal, and original horn-tipped ramrods, St. Etienne proof (2) 21.7 cm. barrels For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com For further information about this lot please visit the lot listing

Buyers' Premium and Charges
For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:
Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.
VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
