A matched pair of Queen Anne Britannia standard silver casters Charles Adam, London 1702 and 1709, one cover marked William Bainbridge Britannia standard, indistinct date letter Octagonal baluster form, with ribbed girdle, with pull of pierced covers, with knop finial, the bodies with engraved foliate tracery, each with engraved armorial for Richard ROBINSON DD Archbishop of Armagh, height 16.7cm, weight 14.4oz. Footnotes: These are the impaled arms of Richard ROBINSON DD (1708-1794) Archbishop of Armagh. He had successive positions in the Church of Ireland as Bishop of Killala and Achonry (1752), Bishop of Ferns and Leighlin (1759), Bishop of Kildare (1761) and finally until his death was Archbishop of Armagh (1765). He was Lord Primate of All Ireland. He was the son of William ROBINSON (1675-1720) of Rokeby, Yorkshire and later Merton, Surrey by Anne WALTERS (1677-1730) DAUGHTER and heir of Robert WALTERS of Cundall. He was educated at Westminster School and Christchurch College Oxford. In 1777 he was created 1st Baron Rokeby of Armagh in the Peerage of Ireland and succeeded as 3rd Baronet his elder brother Sir William ROBINSON (1705-1785) 2nd Baronet of Rokeby Park in the Peerage of England. Buyers' Premium and Charges
For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:
Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.
VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
