Description
Nirvana: A Kurt Cobain Signed and Inscribed Electric Guitar, 1994, the body signed by Cobain with Peace sign in white marker, also inscribed by him I love this guitar man. I sing and play the guitar and I'm a walking talking bacterial infection, Kurt Cobain, Germany 94, guitar unbranded but believed to be a Teisco model from the 60s or 70s, no serial number, sunburst finish, bound maple neck, stained fingerboard, tremolo arm, three pickups, three pickup selectors with one missing, one volume/one tone controls, guitar 39 1/2in (100cm) long Footnotes: Provenance: The consignor of the guitar attended the Nirvana concert at Flughafen Munchen-Riem, Terminal 1, Munich, on 1st March 1994. He met Kurt Cobain and had the guitar signed at this concert. Despite Kurt losing his voice due to bronchitis, the band played an extensive set. As it turned out, this was to be his final concert with Nirvana. Following the concert, Kurt flew to Rome for treatment for laryngitis and bronchitis and a couple of days later overdosed on alcohol and his medication. Cobain returned to the USA, and after a chaotic few weeks, and sadly took his own life on 8th April. Buyers' Premium and Charges
For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:
Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.
