ILLUMINATED MANUSCRIPT Psalter, ILLUMINATED MANUSCRIPT ON VELLUM, in Latin, 314 leaves (lacking one quire), Gothic textualis in brown ink, 14 lines per page, initials alternating in blue and red, 1 full-page illumination of the Crucifixion, one historiated initial with a depiction of King David, 8 historiated initials in blue, red, white and green ink with liquid gold, opening and closing leaves browned, some fading or light abrasions, some quires loose and text block working loose from binding, nineteenth century calf gilt, worn, 8vo (130 x 100mm.), Northern Italy [Parma?], late fifteenth century Footnotes: ILLUMINATED PSALTER with a variety of other religious texts, including a Calendar, the Hours of the Cross and Holy Spirit, the Canticles and Creeds, a devotion on the Seven Words from the Cross, a litany of Saints, the Office of the Dead and the Mass of the Virgin. The book was intended for private devotion. The manuscript was produced in Northern Italy, possibly near or around Parma, as suggested by the style of the illuminations and by some of the less common Saints in the litany that are associated to that region. Buyers' Premium and Charges
