UKRAINE, DONETSK An archive of original photographs, postcards and family ephemera relating to Hughesovka [Donetsk] in the early twentieth century, including; Thirty-three photographs of industrial/factory buildings (mostly exterior, a few interior of workers) of Hughesovka, 19 gelatin silver, with pencil dates between 1872 and 1908 on verso, 120 x 190mm.; 14 ?halftones on thick paper, mounted on thick card, images 120 x 170mm., [printed early twentieth century] Twenty-one photographic postcards of Hughesovska, mostly industrial/factory buildings, captioned in Russian and French, 90 x 140mm., [early twentieth century] 'Baku Oil Fields on fire', 2 albumen prints, captioned in ink on verso, one with small loss to corner, 90 x 120mm., [early twentieth century] Russia. Diplomatic and Consular Reports. Trade of Taganrog and District for the Year 1897, 32pp., blue printed wrappers, 8vo, H.M.S.O., 1898; and the Statutes of the Novorossinskago Society Limited Liability Company, 81pp., printed in Russian, blue wrappers, St. Petersburg, 1887 Archive relating to the Wiskin family (engineers and mechanics, Hughesovska) including approximately 15 carte-de-visite family photo portraits (mostly Russian photo studios), birth, marriage and death certificates, issued by the 'English Church, Hughesovaka', British Consulate at Taganrog, etc., all loose (collection) Footnotes: An unusual archive of photographs of the enormous factory buildings at Hughesovska (modern day Donetsk) in the early twentieth century, with archival material relating to the William Edward Wiskin (1853-1887), and his children, also engineers. Wiskin was born in Riga, after which his father George moved to Hughesovska (founded in 1870 by the Welshman John Hughes) to establish a factory, and where the family remained until the Russian Revolution. Buyers' Premium and Charges


For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:

Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.

A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.
