Beau et rare chronographe bracelet en acier mouvement mécanique Model: Speedmaster 'Gemini V' Limited Edition of 150 pieces Reference: 145.0022/ 345.0022 Date: Circa 1998 Movement: 18-jewel Cal.1861 manual wind, No.48379414 Dial: Black, white luminous baton hour markers, white outer 1/5th second divisions, subsidiary dials at 3, 6 and 9 for running seconds with Gemini 5 emblem, 30 minute and 12 hour recording, white pointed baton hands with luminous inserts, centre chronograph hand Case: Brushed and polished tonneau form, screw down back, crown flanked by twin pushers, fixed black bezel Strap/Bracelet: Fitted stainless steel link, endlinks stamped 842 Buckle/Clasp: Signed stainless steel folding clasp, stamped 1499/842 Signed: Case, dial & movement Size: 42mm Accompaniments: Omega box, outer card, Instructions manual Footnotes: The Gemini V mission is the third crewed mission of the American Gemini space program and the ninth American crewed spaceflight. It was launched into orbit on August 21, 1965, and returned to Earth eight days later. Its crew consisted of Gordon (Gordo) Cooper and Charles Conrad (who would later command the Skylab II rescue mission). During this flight, Charles Conrad wished to bring along his beloved Glycine Airman watch as a backup, which he had worn since his assignment at Patuxent River (United States Naval Test Pilot School). Charles Conrad would go on to become the third human to walk on the Moon during the Apollo 12 mission. This collector's watch is part of the Speedmaster chronographs released by Omega to celebrate the American space program of the last century.
