Important manuscrit complet illustré de Phra Malai en forme d'accordéon, relatant les voyages d'un moine bouddhiste à travers le paradis et l'enfer, Thaïlande, probablement Bangkok, XIXème siècle A large complete illustrated Phra Malai manuscript in concertina form, regarding the journeys of a Buddhist monk through heaven and hell Thailand, probably Bangkok, 19th Century gouache on paper, 22 leaves, text in Old Thai script, some in black ink on plain ground, 6 paintings, remainder in gold on black ground, painted card covers 13.5 x 63 cm. (folded) Footnotes: Phra Malai texts, named after the Buddhist monk who travelled to heaven and hell, were popular didactic fables from the 18th Century onwards. See H. 28% on the first €40,000 of the Hammer Price
27% from €40,001 to €800,000 the Hammer Price
21% from €800,001 to €4,500,000 the Hammer Price
14.5% on the excess over €4,500,000 of the Hammer Price
A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.
TVA at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges.
