Canadian, 97th Algonquin Rifles post 1904 OfficerÕs helmet plate.
A fine scarce heavy die-stamped silvered example. Maltese cross, ball finials to the points, surmounted by a crown resting on a black enamel tablet inscribed ÒCanadaÓ. On the cross, within a maple wreath, a black enamel circlet inscribed ÒAlgonquin RiflesÓ with mooseÕs head to centre, his antlers extending to the upper arm of the cross which bears Ô97ÕÓ; beneath the circlet, a scroll inscribed ÒNe Gon E DaÓ. Two loops to reverse, one reaffixed. VGC
