Eight pointed star, mounted with crowned pierced strap inscribed ?South Devon XXV Regt. of Militia?; rampant lion mounted to the slightly domed centre,. Two loops to reverse. Slight nick to 3 oÕclock ray otherwise VGC. Raised 5th December 1758 at Plymouth; became 3rd Bn. Devonshire Regiment on Friday 1st July 1881.
