Scottish: Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders post 1881 Officer?s waist belt plate. A good example by R & HB Kirkwood, 66 & 68 Thistle St. Edinr. with their Thistle logo to reverse. Burnished gilt rectangular plate mounted with the silvered regimental device of the Boar?s head and the Cat. Above the device, a tri-part scroll inscribed ?Princess Louise?s? surmounted by the Coronet of the Princess; below the device, another tri-part scroll inscribed ?Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders?. Fixed belt loop present, detachable belt loop now absent. Wear to gilt. GC
