A good scarce die-stamped white metal example officially converted from a Victorian plate whilst in service. Crowned star bearing laurel wreath and applied circlet inscribed `Essex 3rd Volr. Battn.` with Sphinx on blank tablet, Castle, Key and motto to voided centre. Three loops to reverse. VGC
