Cumberland Militia Georgian OR`s shoulder belt plate.

A good scarce oval brass example. The face incised `(M) Cumberland`. Reverse retains singe hook and two studs. VGC

Westmoreland & Cumberland Militia formed around 1697. Westmoreland separated 20th June 1760 with ; redesignated Royal in 1804. Became 3rd Bn. Border Regiment on Friday 1st July, 1881.
