Scottish. Glasgow Highlanders Officer s glengarry badge circa 1939-52 .
A very fine scarce example comprising a cut silvered Order of the Thistle Star mounted with a gilt thistle wreath; within the wreath, a crowned oval bearing the motto of the Order (Lacessit). To the centre, St.Andrew and the Cross in silver; below the wreath a gilt Sphinx. Silvered scroll flanking crown inscribed The Glasgow Highlanders , another tri-part scroll between the base of the wreath and the Sphinx inscribed Highland Light Infantry . Two loops to reverse. Gilt fresh. VGC Provenance. Bosleys March 2005, Lot 151.
