A very fine scarce gilding metal example. Crowned star mounted with laurel wreath and Garter, the black patent leather centre bearing a silver strung bugle. Mounted on the base of the wreath, a silver tri-part scroll inscribed The Oxfordshire Lt. Infy . Three loops to reverse. VGC All regiments had the option for Officer s plates to be in gilt or of gilding metal. The Oxfords invariable wore gilding metal Hugh King Collection
