A fine and scarce die-stamped brass example. Crowned star bearing laurel wreath and strap inscribed Middlesex Light Infantry Defence not Defiance ; 26 to voided centre. Three loops to reverse. Orb and cross strengthened on reverse otherwise VGC. Raised 14th September 1866 at Strathroy, Ontario. See Canadian Militia Badges Pre 1914 by Mazeas, HP 132. Provenance.
