Royal Marine Artillery Victorian Officer's busby plume holder circa 1866-79.. A very fine and scarce example. Gilt flaming grenade, the ball mounted with a laurel wreath surmounted by a scroll inscribed 'Gibraltar' and bearing an applied silver fouled anchor to the junction below. Within the wreath, a pierced strap inscribed 'Per Mare Per Terram' on blue enamel ground. To the centre, a silver globe in relief. Reverse complete with plume holder and restored slider. VGC Offered with associated red hair plume for display. VGC (KK 1101).
