King's Royal Rifle Corps Victorian Officer's 1898 hallmarked silver pouch belt plate.. A very fine die-stamped example by J & Co. (Jennens) bearing Birmingham hallmarks. Maltese cross surmounted by a crown resting on a tablet inscribed 'Celer et Audax'. On the cross, a circlet inscribed 'The King's Royal Rifle Corps', to the centre a strung bugle. The arms of the cross bearing numerous honours to 'Tel-el-Kebir'. Four screw posts to reverse, complete with backing plate. VGC.
