1st (Royal) Regiment of Foot Victorian Officer’s “Quilted” pattern shako plate circa 1861-69.
An extremely fine and scarce example. Mounted on a gilt eight pointed star, the topmost point displaced by a Crown, the pierced Collar of The Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle; to the centre, VR Cypher with floreated “1” below. Resting atop the Collar, a scroll inscribed “Royal Regiment”. Retains both original loops to reverse. VGC (As KK 111 but with voided centre)
