Description
Cartier, gouden munthorloge. Met goudkleurige geguillocheerde wijzerplaat gesigneerd Cartier Paris Londres, met Arabische cijfers en geblauwde wijzers. Het horloge verborgen in een gouden vijf pond uit 1887, één zijde met Koningin Victoria, de andere zijde met sint Joris. De munt springt open door het indrukken van de met een blauwe cabochon geslepen saffier bezette kroon. In een speciaal voor de munt vervaardigde 18 kt. gouden muntrand, met het hangoog kan tevens de munt geopend worden. Een soortgelijk exemplaar bevond zich in de collectie van de hertogin van Windsor (geveild bij Sotheby's in 1987, lot nr. 252 en in 2010, lot nr. 2) en één met munt van Edward VII, in de collectie van Franklin D. Roosevelt, geschonken door Pierre Cartier als kerstgeschenk bruto 39,8 gr., diam. excl. rand, 36 mm [1] Cartier, gold coin watch. With gold-coloured guilloche dial signed Cartier Paris Londres, with Arabic numerals and blued hands. The watch hidden in a gold five pound coin from 1887, one side with Queen Victoria, the other side with Saint George. The coin springs open by pressing the crown set with a blue cabochon-cut sapphire. In a coin rim specially made for the coin, by pressing the bail the coin can also be opened. A similar example was in the collection of the Duchess of Windsor (auctioned at Sotheby's in 1987, lot no. 252 and in 2010, lot no. 2) and one with a coin of Edward VII, in the collection of Franklin D. Roosevelt, donated by Pierre Cartier as a Christmas present
