Important Information

The auction will be divided into two sessions.

The first session, starting at 10:30 AM (italian time), will focus on glass and silver. You'll discover a rich selection of fine glassware, including pieces from Vittorio FerroGalléDaum, and Lalique, alongside silverworks by prestigious names such as BuccellatiDe Vecchi, and Stefani.

The second session, taking place at 4 PM (italian time), will be dedicated to modern and collectible design, featuring iconic names like Max Ingrand and many others. The catalogue includes a diverse array of design objects—from lighting to furniture with distinctive character, such as a rare Grotta-style salon set and two Liberty-style vases in galvanized copper from Venice, which were exhibited at the Venice Biennale.

The session will also feature a selection of Old Master paintings, adding a classical touch to an eclectic and carefully curated offering.

Terms & Conditions

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE

1. BASE PRICE
The artworks are offered for sale at a base price indicated in the catalog, which corresponds to the minimum price below which no bids will be accepted for the lot.

2. PARTICIPATION AND RESULTING OBLIGATIONS

Bids can be submitted in three ways:

  • ONLINE › By visiting the dedicated webpage and clicking on the bid button for the desired artwork.
  • IN PERSON › By attending the auction in person and placing a bid by raising a hand.
  • BY PHONE › By filling out the participation form and sending it via email to info@fidelisaste.com at least 24 hours before the auction starts in order to be contacted during the auction. In the case of phone participation, by submitting the participation form, the bidder commits to purchasing the lot at the base auction price if no higher bids are placed in the auction room.

In any case, submitting a bid entails the bidder’s obligation to pay the hammer price, including auction fees, any applicable taxes, and any other applicable charges.

3. AUCTION FEES

If a bidder wins a lot, in addition to the hammer price, they must also pay auction fees equal to 30% (25% Auction House Commissions 5% Internet Commissions) of the winning bid amount or a different percentage indicated in the catalog depending on the type of auction. The auction fee percentage may vary for special auctions or artworks and is always specified in the auction catalog.

4. SALE TERMS

4.1 The lots are sold to the public at Fidelis Auctions S.r.l.’s premises in Bologna, Piazza Dè Calderini 2/2, or occasionally at a different location specified in the auction catalog. Fidelis Auctions S.r.l. acts as an exclusive agent without representation for each seller, whose name is recorded in the appropriate public security registers at the company’s headquarters.

4.2 The effects of the sale apply to the seller. Fidelis Auctions S.r.l. assumes no responsibility towards the winning bidder or third parties beyond its role as an agent.

4.3 Fidelis Auctions S.r.l. reserves the right to withdraw any lot from the auction.

4.4 The items offered at auction are awarded to the highest bidder. Payment must be made in full within 7 days of the sale by bank transfer, debit or credit card, cashier’s check, or cash. In compliance with anti-money laundering regulations, cash payments are not allowed for amounts exceeding €5,000. If the cash payment limit changes, the maximum amount allowed will always be the one set by law.

4.5 Within the same 7-day period mentioned in Article 3, the winning bidder must also pay Fidelis Auctions S.r.l., in addition to the hammer price, an amount equal to 30% (25% Auction House Commissions 5% Internet Commissions)  of the winning bid as the auction commission (or another percentage indicated in the catalog) to the following bank account:

Account Name: Fidelis Auctions S.r.l.
IBAN: IT56Y0707202405000000751426

4.6 To validate participation in any auction, each participant must complete a Participation Form before the auction, providing personal details and a valid form of identification along with their tax code.

4.7 Fidelis Auctions S.r.l. may accept purchasing mandates (written, phone, or online bids) at set prices, placing bids on behalf of the bidder in competition with public participants.

4.8 If two written bids are received for the same lot, the lot will be awarded to the bidder whose offer was received first.

Fidelis Auctions reserves the right to refuse bids from unknown or unreliable participants unless a full deposit is provided to cover the bid or an adequate guarantee is given. Upon awarding a lot, Fidelis Auctions S.r.l. may require the winning bidder to confirm their identity and provide verifiable banking references and any other necessary or useful information. If the provided information is inaccurate, incomplete, or deemed inadequate, Fidelis Auctions S.r.l. reserves the right to revoke the award of the lot.

4.9 In accordance with Article 1229 of the Italian Civil Code, Fidelis Auctions S.r.l. disclaims all liability regarding the descriptions of lots in catalogs, brochures, its website, and any other informational or promotional materials. These descriptions, along with any additional information or illustrations, are purely indicative and cannot be relied upon by auction participants. Bidders are responsible for personally examining the items beforehand or arranging for necessary checks and verifications.

To facilitate this, Fidelis Auctions S.r.l. organizes pre-auction exhibitions at its headquarters, allowing clients to inspect the quality, type, condition, authenticity, and provenance of the artworks. Catalog measurements follow this order: height, width, depth. Interested buyers may request a Condition Report for one or more artworks free of charge via email.

4.10 It is presumed that the winning bidder, regardless of the bidding method, had the opportunity to view and verify the artwork before participating in the auction. However, Fidelis Auctions grants each winning bidder the right to withdraw within 14 days after the auction if the artwork is deemed inauthentic by the relevant authorities. After this period, the contract with the auction house becomes final, and authenticity is considered verified. Any late disputes must be addressed directly with the seller.

4.11 If bids are submitted before the lot is auctioned, bidding will start from the highest pre-submitted offer.

4.12 Once the full payment has been made, the winning bidder must collect their purchased lots at their own risk and expense within 7 days of the sale. If collection is delayed beyond this period without prior agreement, the winning bidder must pay a daily storage fee of €5. Fidelis Auctions S.r.l. may, upon agreement, arrange for packaging, transport, and insurance at the winning bidder’s expense and risk.

4.13 Fidelis Auctions S.r.l. reserves the right to negotiate special payment terms, allow installment payments, store unsold or uncollected lots, privately sell unclaimed lots, insure awarded lots, handle disputes, and take any necessary measures to recover payments owed by the winning bidder.

4.14 Fidelis Auctions S.r.l. assumes no responsibility regarding any export restrictions on purchased items. It is the buyer’s responsibility to obtain any required licenses or permits under applicable laws.

4.15 These terms and conditions of sale, published on the website https://www.fidelisaste.com/, are considered accepted by all auction participants and are available to anyone upon request. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Court of Bologna.
