In-folio relié plein maroquin janséniste sable, dos lisse orné du titre doré, quintuple filet doré et un estampé en encadrement des gardes de toile marron, couv. et dos d'origine conservés, tr. dorées, sous chemise et emboîtage. Reliure signée Creuzevault. Orné de nombreuses compositions sur bois in- et hors texte, dont 10 à pleine page et 3 sur double page, rehaussées en couleurs et à l'or par Camille Beltrand en collaboration avec Pierre Bouchet.
Tirage limité à 185 exemplaires, tous sur Japon impérial, celui-ci hors justification, nominatif pour l'académicien Monsieur Georges Lecomte, enrichi d'un très beau dessin original du tigre Shere Khan au crayon en couleurs et signé par l'artiste.
Très bel exemplaire de cette édition Art déco, bien complet de l'ensemble de ses illustrations dont la couverture

Large folio, bound in full sand-coloured Jansenist morocco, smooth spine lettered in gilt, gilt quintuple fillet and blind-stamped border on brown cloth endpapers, original wrappers and spine bound in, all edges gilt, housed in a chemise and slipcase. Binding signed by Creuzevault.
Illustrated with numerous wood-engraved compositions, both in- and out-of-text, including 10 full-page and 3 double-page plates, all hand-coloured and heightened with gold by Camille Beltrand in collaboration with Pierre Bouchet.
Limited edition of 185 copies, all printed on Imperial Japanese paper. This copy, unnumbered and reserved hors justification, is inscribed to the Académie Française member Monsieur Georges Lecomte, and enriched with a fine original colour pencil drawing of Shere Khan the tiger, signed by the artist.
A beautiful copy of this Art Deco edition, complete with all its illustrations, including the original cover.
