Description
A black pearl torsade necklace, with mid to late 19th century old-cut diamond floral cluster detachable clasp, may also be worn as a pendant, estimated total diamond weight 7 to 8ct, predominantly J-L colour, SI clarity, length 43.5cm, with case, 166.2g
Overall good condition
Some marks and scratches in keeping with age and general wear
Pearls measure approximately 5.2mm to 3.2mm
Pearls are displaying a range of hues from dark purplish to medium greenish, they are in good to fair condition with minor to moderate nacre damage
Pearls are untested for natural origin and are mostly baroque
Diamonds are fairly well matched and fairly bright, some draw a more noticeable yellowish tint
Diamonds have light and dark, scattered inclusions, some have chips and nicks to the facet edges
Clasp is detachable and may be worn on its own as a pendant, has hinged pendant fittings
Clasp measures approximately 4.4cm by 4cm
