Note: "Gail Harvey is one of the UK’s most powerful painters. Her work captures an energy which goes further than the elemental forces which surround her sea-facing Shetland studio, and into a realm of purity of energy. Harvey’s lightness, and feeling for scale and colour, shows a skill that is seldom seen. Gail Harvey manages to remove all unessential things from her paintings; including herself, sometimes.” Tony Davidson (Kilmorack Gallery).
