TWO JAPANESE SATSUMA POTTERY VASES, MEIJI PERIOD, CIRCA 1900'S
the first decorated with immortals, of tapering square form with twin handles to a lobed quatrefoil base, bearing hand painted four character mark to underside, the second of flared cylindrical form and decorated with a coiled dragon above scenes of warriors on horseback, bearing hand painted eighteen character mark to underside

The twin handled vase shows crazing, very light rubbing/losses to the various corners, remnants of a peach paint like substance on the surface, no evidence of chips, cracks or restoration. The flaring neck vase with an area to the rim, which looks to be repainted, small enamel losses across the vase and some gilt fading. Crazing evident though no obvious chips or cracks.
