Note: A presentation watermark portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II by Portals Ltd in 1953, a bespoke, framed portrait. The first two of these watermark portraits were gifted (in 1953) to Her Majesty to commemorate her coronation in 1953 and are now held (and documented) in the Royal Collection. A small additional number were produced as gifts for some of the dignitaries and Heads of State who attended. The V&A also hold an example. Portals Ltd has a history dating back more than 300 years, and has supplied banknote paper to the Bank of England since 1724 prior to the switch to polymer substrates.
