oil on board, signed framed and under glass image size 34cm x 52cm, overall size 45cm x 63cm Note: Untitled but understood to be Luskentyre Beach. Luskentyre is a sparse settlement on the west coast of the Isle of Harris, in the Outer Hebrides. The name Luskentyre derives from Lios-cinn-tir, meaning 'headland fort', although there is no trace or local knowledge of a fort at the headland. The beautiful beach at Luskentyre has been voted "Britain's Best Beach" and is accessed by a single track road. There is a vast area of sand dunes on the north side of the bay. Note 2: Anne Skinner graduated from Edinburgh College of Art (ECA) in 1992 and has a Masters in Fine Art from Winchester School of Art. She was awarded Hope Scott Trust funding to paint on the Isle of Harris in 2019. Passionate about the Scottish coastline, Anne captures the beauty of the scene through intense colour and careful abstraction of form, light and weather. Anne's work is exhibited widely in numerous galleries around Scotland. The popularity of her work at gallery level is reflected by her strong exhibitions track record which includes: 2025: 'Winter Exhibition' Ballater Gallery, Aberdeenshire; 'Winter Exhibition, Greens & Blues Gallery, North Berwick'; Winter Exhibition 'ARTeries Gallery, Glasgow; Mixed Exhibition, Strathearn Gallery, Crieff; Spring Exhibition, Portsoy Gallery, Aberdeenshire; '25th Anniversary Show' Greens & Blues Gallery, North Berwick'; 2024: 'On a Small Scale' The Open Eye Gallery, Edinburgh; 'Autumn Exhibition The Portsoy Gallery, Portsoy'; 'Autumn Exhibition, Strathearn Gallery, Crieff'; 'East to West Coast' Autumn Exhibition, Atholl Gallery, Dunkeld'; 'Festival Exhibition' Heriot Gallery, Edinburgh; '30th Summer Anniversary Exhibition, Strathearn Gallery, Crieff; 'Solo Exhibition: 'Colours, Textures and Wonder:The Allure of Scottish Seascapes' Dundas Street Gallery, Edinburgh 12-16th June 2024; 'Mixed Exhibition' Atelier Gallery, Edinburgh; 'Mixed Exhibition' Ballater Gallery, Aberdeenshire; 'Mixed Exhibition' Arteries Gallery, Glasgow; 'Mixed Exhibition, Greens and Blues Gallery, North Berwick; 'Small Paintings Exhibition' Ballater Gallery, Aberdeenshire; 2023: 'Small Paintings Show' Morningside Gallery, Edinburgh; 'Spring Show' Velvet Easel, Portobello; 'Spring Show' The Atelier Gallery, Edinburgh; 'Spring Show, Greens and Blues Gallery, North Berwick; 'Summer Show' Ballater Gallery; 'New Town Art Month' Atelier Gallery, Edinburgh; 'Summer Show' Whitehouse Gallery, Kirkcudbright; 'Summer Show' Eduardo Alessandro Studios, Broughty Ferry, Dundee ; 'A Sense of Place - The Beauty of Scottish Seascapes' Solo Show, 1 August - 2 September 2023, Gleneagles Townhouse, Edinburgh; 'Autumn Exhibition' Greens & Blues Gallery, North Berwick; 'Winter Exhibition' Arteries Gallery, Glasgow; 'Christmas Exhibition' Atelier Gallery, Edinburgh; 'On a Small Scale' Online Christmas Exhibition, Open Eye Gallery Edinburgh. ?2022: 'Small Paintings Show', Morningside Gallery, Edinburgh; 'Spring Show' Velvet Easel Gallery, Portobello; 'Stories of the City, Land and Sea' Two-person Show, Colinton Arts, Edinburgh; 'BIG Summer Show 2022' The Lemond Gallery, Bearsden; 'Summer Mixed Exhibition' Colinton Arts, Edinburgh; 'Turning Leaves' Coast Gallery, Dunbar; 'Aberdeen Art Fair' September 2022, Ballater Art Gallery; 'Winter Show', Number Four Gallery, St Abbs; 'BIG Christmas Show,' Lemond Gallery, Bearsden; 'Mixed Winter Show,' Arteries Gallery, Glasgow; 'Edinburgh Art Fair 2022' Represented by The Ballater Gallery?; 2021: 'Small Paintings Show', Morningside Gallery, Edinburgh; 'Spring Group Show', Atelier Gallery, Edinburgh; 'Summer Group Show', Morningside Gallery, Edinburgh; 'Summer Group Show', Velvet Easel Gallery, Portobello; 'Winter Group Show', Velvet Easel Gallery, Portobello; 'Winter Group Show', Morningside Gallery, Edinburgh; 'Winter Light' Group Show, Whitehouse Gallery, Kirkcudbright; 'On a Small Scale' Open Eye Gallery, Edinburgh?; 2020: 'One Year On', Atelier Gallery, Edinburgh; 'A Summer to Remember', Whitehouse Gallery, Kirkcudbright; 'BIG Summer Fair', Green Gallery, Buchlyvie; 'Winds of Change' Whitehouse Gallery, Kirkcudbright; 'Autumn Exhibition' Green Gallery, Buchlyvie; 'Christmas Exhibition' Morningside Gallery, Edinburgh; 'On a Small Scale' Open Eye Gallery, Edinburgh?; 2019: Group Show, Finsbay Gallery, Isle of Harris; Group Show, Skyeworks Gallery, isle of Skye; 'Rooms 11', Green Gallery, Buchlyvie; Group Show, Atelier Gallery, Edinburgh; Hope Scott Travel Award to Isle of Harris; Golden Hour', Green Gallery, Dollar; Christmas Fair, Green Gallery, Buchlyvie; 'On a Small Scale', The Open Eye Gallery, Edinburgh?; 2018: Group Show, Laurel Gallery, Edinburgh; Group Show, Finsbay Gallery, Isle of Harris; Group Show, Skyworks Gallery, Isle of Skye; Group Show, Greens and Blues Gallery, North Berwick; Edinburgh Art Fair 2018, Art Amatoria, Edinburgh; ?2017: Group Show, Laurel Gallery, Edinburgh; Group Show, Atholl Gallery, Dunkeld
