photograph depicts George VI, taken on the 2nd June 1936, when he was the then Duke of York and six months before his coronation. The photograph is in its original mounting envelope and was taken and developed by Laing’s studio in Forfar. This was during accepting his Masonic Grand Lodge of Scotland first degree at Lodge Glamis; along with three lodge 'pennies'; Buchanan marked 1419, St Johnstone marked 242, and Strathendrick marked 780; and a Bicentenary medal from Lodge Thistle and Rose 1758-1958
