Description
A late 18th/early 19th Century black basalt elongated octagonal teapot with Classical figure decoration, the lid with seated Classical maiden and babe in arms, the main body decorated with figure, trees and putti over a lotus leaf decorated base, the handle with acanthus decorated thumb piece, the spout of plain tapering form, 21 cm long x 10.5 cm high together with a 20th Century Wedgwood black basalt ribbed cream jug with glazed interior, 7 cm high
CONDITION REPORTS
The tea pot - there is a small chip to the internal rim of the pot. There is a small chip to the edge of the spout. The lid has some chips to the inside rim and the inside inner rim also appears slightly misshapen although assume this is to do with manufacturing, can't see any other reason. The cream jug is badly scratched. Otherwise general wear and tear conducive with age and use - see images for more details
