Bilingual Victory Medal 1914-19 (4) (Sjt. V. G. Wright 4th S.A.I.; Pte. C. A. Cooke. 4th S.A.I.; Pte. A. C. Green. 4th S.A.I.; Pte. F. H. Kruger. 4th S.A.I.) traces of adhesive to reverse of all, generally nearly very fine and better (4) £70-£90 --- Victor Garland Wright was born in Huddersfield in 1892 and attested for the South African Infantry ay Durban on 25 January 1917. Posted to the Western Front with the 4th Regiment, he was taken Prisoner of War in the spring of 1918 and died of tetanus whilst in German captivity on 27 April 1918. He is buried at Cologne Southern Cemetery, Germany. Cecil Arthur Cooke was born at Germiston in 1896 and attested for the 4th South African Infantry at Potchefstroom on 25 January 1916. Posted to the Western Front, his service record notes that he was wounded in action on 24 October 1916, and received an accidental injury to the head on 20 January 1917. He later died of diptheria on 6 March 1917 and is buried at Etaples Military Cemetery. Frederik Henry Kruger was born in Pretoria in 1885 and attested for the South African Infantry at Germiston on 19 December 1917. Recorded as a ‘Dutch Reformer’, he suffered a severe wound to the right shoulder on the Western Front 1 October 1918, spending almost 2 months at Richmond Hospital in recovery. He was discharged at Maitland on 18 December 1919. Sold with copied service records for the above three recipients. Note: A number of men with the name A. C. Green served with the 4th Regiment, South African Infantry.

If you are successful in purchasing lot/s being auctioned by us and opt for the item/s to be sent to you, we will use the following methods of shipment:

Within the UK
If you live within the UK, items will be despatched using Royal Mail Special Delivery. This service provides parcel tracking (via the Royal Mail website) and next weekday delivery (betwen 9am and 1pm). Items delivered within the UK are covered by our insurance company. Heavy and bulky lots will be sent by courier, in discussion with the client.

Outside of the UK
If the item/s being sent are worth under £1000 in total they are sent using Royal Mail’s Signed For International service. This ensures the item must be signed for when it is delivered.
If the item/s being sent are valued at over £1000 in total they will be sent using FedEx. This service allows next day delivery to customers in many parts of the US and parcels are fully trackable using the FedEx website.

Shipping Exceptions
Certain lots such as those containing glass or sharp implements, etc., may not be suitable for in-house shipping within or outside of the UK. Please contact Noonans with any queries.
