Hadrian (117-138), Hadrian, Sestertius, 119-20, laureate bust right, draped across far should, imp caesar traianvs hadrianvs avg p m tr p cos iii, rev. Lictor standing left, torching heap of bonds and holding lictor, before him crowd of plebs, reliqua vetera hs novies mill abolita around, 25.78g/6h (RIC 264; BMC 1208; C 1212). Very fine, glossy green patina with some minor porosity; a very rare and historically significant type £600-£800 --- Provenance: SNC May 1974 (4218) In 119 Hadrian wrote off 9 million Sestertii in tax arrears, owed to the state by private citizens. Records were publicly burned and an inscription celebrating Hadrian’s generosity was erected in the Forum of Trajan. A small issue of coinage also commemorated the event, today specimens are rare and difficult to acquire in any grade above fine.

If you live within the UK, items will be despatched using Royal Mail Special Delivery. This service provides parcel tracking (via the Royal Mail website) and next weekday delivery (betwen 9am and 1pm). Items delivered within the UK are covered by our insurance company. Heavy and bulky lots will be sent by courier, in discussion with the client.
Outside of the UK
If the item/s being sent are worth under £1000 in total they are sent using Royal Mail’s Signed For International service. This ensures the item must be signed for when it is delivered.
If the item/s being sent are valued at over £1000 in total they will be sent using FedEx. This service allows next day delivery to customers in many parts of the US and parcels are fully trackable using the FedEx website.
