Bénard, Raoul-René-Alphonse (French, 1881-1961); b. Elbeuf FRANCE, Cinquantenaire du Sénat, Paris [50th Anniversary of the Senate], 1929, an Art Déco bronze medal by R.-R.-A. Bénard, standing figure of Minerva, holding spear, her head turned to left, flight of steps to the grounds of the Sénat building behind, rev. frontal elevation of the Sénat, tablet below named (J.L. Breton, Membre du Sénat), edge impressed bronze and cornucopia, 81mm, 195.17g (cf. Kölner Münzkabinett 116, 1655; cf. iNumis MBS 49, 1030; cf. DNW 66, 1538). Good very fine £80-£100 --- Jules-Louis Breton (1872-1940), b. Courrières, dép. Pas-de-Calais, inventor and politician; student activist, imprisoned in 1894 for his views on President Carnot; deputy of Cher, 1898-1921; introduced tracked armoured cars and tanks to the war in France, 1916; Minister of Health, 1920-1; elected to the Sénat, 9 January 1921, serving until January 1930. On 27 November 1879 the Palais de Luxembourg, originally built for Marie de Medici and completed in 1630, was assigned to the Senate

If you live within the UK, items will be despatched using Royal Mail Special Delivery. This service provides parcel tracking (via the Royal Mail website) and next weekday delivery (betwen 9am and 1pm). Items delivered within the UK are covered by our insurance company. Heavy and bulky lots will be sent by courier, in discussion with the client.
Outside of the UK
If the item/s being sent are worth under £1000 in total they are sent using Royal Mail’s Signed For International service. This ensures the item must be signed for when it is delivered.
If the item/s being sent are valued at over £1000 in total they will be sent using FedEx. This service allows next day delivery to customers in many parts of the US and parcels are fully trackable using the FedEx website.
