R.N.) rate officially corrected on BWM, very fine Pair: Ordinary Seaman P. Weaver, Royal Navy British War and Victory Medals (J.62472 P. Weaver. Ord. R.N.) good very fine Pair: Deck Boy T. Donovan, Royal Naval Reserve British War and Victory Medals (2033S.B. T. Donovan. Dk. Boy R.N.R.) heavy edge bruising, nearly very fine (7) £80-£100 --- Alfred James Trewin was born in Devon on 15 June 1866 and joined the Royal Navy as a Boy Second Class on 11 August 1881. Advanced Leading Seaman on 6 December 1891, he transferred to the Coast Guard on 13 July 1894, and was advanced Commanding Boatman on 13 June 1901, based at Southbourne. Shore pensioned on 13 July 1904, he joined the Royal Fleet Reserve at Devonport on 15 August 1904. Recalled for War service as a Petty Officer Second Class on 2 August 1914, he served in H.M.S. Talbot from the outbreak of War to 21 October 1913, and was present when Talbot participated in the capture of a German merchant ship off the Lizard in September 1914. Invalided out of the service on 20 November 1914, he was awarded his Long Service and Good Conduct Medal on 13 December 1921. Percy Weaver was born in Lydd, Kent, on 8 October 1897 and joined the Royal Navy for hostilities only on 18 November 1916. He served in the M-class Destroyer H.M.S. Myngs from 27 November 1917 to 1 July 1918, and the Hunt-class Minesweeper H.M.S. Munlochy from 8 to 30 September 1918, and was shore demobilised on 6 March 1919. Thomas Donovan was born in Swansea on 25 July 1902 and enrolled in the Royal Naval Reserve on 7 June 1918. He served during the Great War afloat in the S.S. Walter Burke, and was shore demobilised on 9 July 1919. Sold with copied records of service for all three recipients.

If you are successful in purchasing lot/s being auctioned by us and opt for the item/s to be sent to you, we will use the following methods of shipment:

Within the UK
If you live within the UK, items will be despatched using Royal Mail Special Delivery. This service provides parcel tracking (via the Royal Mail website) and next weekday delivery (betwen 9am and 1pm). Items delivered within the UK are covered by our insurance company. Heavy and bulky lots will be sent by courier, in discussion with the client.

Outside of the UK
If the item/s being sent are worth under £1000 in total they are sent using Royal Mail’s Signed For International service. This ensures the item must be signed for when it is delivered.
If the item/s being sent are valued at over £1000 in total they will be sent using FedEx. This service allows next day delivery to customers in many parts of the US and parcels are fully trackable using the FedEx website.
