A very good silver example Officer’s Pouch with hallmarks for Birmingham, 1900 and makers marks for ‘Bent & Parker’, with a silver flap and fixings, with a black outer with interior green leather, the pouch with the insignia of an Edwardian crowned laurel wreath with ‘BAYS’ (gothic style) to its centre, below the main badge a motto scroll ‘Pro Rege Et Patria’, both insignia with long screw posts to the reverse, very good service worn condition £220-£260
---
The original Victorian insignia for this pouch would have been replaced with Edwardian insignia when the regiment changed crowns after the accession of King Edward VII. Most, if not all Officers serving at this time, will have had them officially changed. Hence, the Officer who purchased this pouch in 1900 would have only have had this pouch a few months prior to the necessary change.
