Maurice Henry Fitzmaurice was born in Bambrough, Yorkshire, on 9 June 1833 and was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the Royal Artillery on 22 December 1852. He served with them in South Africa from 12 August 1853 to January 1855, and was promoted Lieutenant on 17 February 1854. He saw further service in China from 18 April to 1 September 1857, and then in India from 1 September 1857. He served during the Great Sepoy Mutiny with the 5th Company, 13th Battalion Royal Artillery under Lord Clyde, and took part in the Second Relief of Lucknow, 14 November 1857; the Second Battle of Cawnpore, 6 December 1857; the Siege of Lucknow, 5-15 March 1858; and in the operations around Azimghur, 22 April 1858. For his services during the Siege of Lucknow he was Mentioned in Despatches by Major-General Sir James Outram (London Gazette 25 May 1858), having been favourably Mentioned by Lieutenant-Colonel Riddell; the recipient’s Statement of Services states that he was twice Mentioned in Despatches. Promoted 2nd Captain on 1 April 1860, he died of fever at Landour, India, on 3 August 1865,

Within the UK
If you live within the UK, items will be despatched using Royal Mail Special Delivery. This service provides parcel tracking (via the Royal Mail website) and next weekday delivery (betwen 9am and 1pm). Items delivered within the UK are covered by our insurance company. Heavy and bulky lots will be sent by courier, in discussion with the client.
Outside of the UK
If the item/s being sent are worth under £1000 in total they are sent using Royal Mail’s Signed For International service. This ensures the item must be signed for when it is delivered.
If the item/s being sent are valued at over £1000 in total they will be sent using FedEx. This service allows next day delivery to customers in many parts of the US and parcels are fully trackable using the FedEx website.
