Edwin Caswell Jones was born in Fordingbridge, Hampshire, in 1872 and attested for the 5th Dragoon Guards at Aldershot on 26 January 1892. He served with them in India from 6 September 1893 to 11 October 1899, and then in South Africa during the Boer War from 12 October 1899 to 5 April 1902 (also entitled to a King’s South Africa Medal with the usual two date clasps), and then back in India from 6 April to 15 December 1902. Transferring to the 7th Dragoon Guards on 14 March 1903, he saw further service in Egypt from 17 September 1908 to 3 October 1910, and was discharged on 21 October 1910, after 18 years and 272 days’ service.
Following the outbreak of the Great War Jones re-enlisted at York ion 31 August 1914, and served as an Acting Sergeant with the Hampshire Yeomanry on the Western Front from 19 March 1917 (also entitled to a British War Medal and a Victory Medal). Subsequently transferring to the Labour Corps, and then the Royal fusiliers, he was discharged Class ‘Z’ on 14 February 1919.

If you live within the UK, items will be despatched using Royal Mail Special Delivery. This service provides parcel tracking (via the Royal Mail website) and next weekday delivery (betwen 9am and 1pm). Items delivered within the UK are covered by our insurance company. Heavy and bulky lots will be sent by courier, in discussion with the client.
Outside of the UK
If the item/s being sent are worth under £1000 in total they are sent using Royal Mail’s Signed For International service. This ensures the item must be signed for when it is delivered.
If the item/s being sent are valued at over £1000 in total they will be sent using FedEx. This service allows next day delivery to customers in many parts of the US and parcels are fully trackable using the FedEx website.
Shipping Exceptions
