Provenance: Glendining’s, December 1936; Sotheby’s, June 1984.
David Davis, a native of Mold, Flintshire, attested for the 23rd Regiment of Foot on 27 October 1806, and served with the Regiment in the West Indies from 29 December 1808 to 16 April 1809, and subsequently in the Peninsula from the Battle of Vittoria, 21 June 1813, through to the final action of the campaign, the Battle of Toulouse, on 10 April 1814. He saw further service during the Waterloo campaign, 16-18 June 1815, as part of Captain Brown’s No. 4 Company; during the Waterloo campaign the 2nd Battalion suffered total casualties of 12 officers and 89 other ranks killed and wounded. Davis was discharged on 12 April 1817.
Sold with copied muster rolls and a CD of research.

If you live within the UK, items will be despatched using Royal Mail Special Delivery. This service provides parcel tracking (via the Royal Mail website) and next weekday delivery (betwen 9am and 1pm). Items delivered within the UK are covered by our insurance company. Heavy and bulky lots will be sent by courier, in discussion with the client.
Outside of the UK
If the item/s being sent are worth under £1000 in total they are sent using Royal Mail’s Signed For International service. This ensures the item must be signed for when it is delivered.
If the item/s being sent are valued at over £1000 in total they will be sent using FedEx. This service allows next day delivery to customers in many parts of the US and parcels are fully trackable using the FedEx website.
