Räsänen for Sporrong, nude female with drawn-up legs facing, head turned to left, to her left a half-mirror image of her, with a facing bust of the artist, Kauko Räsänen, at upper left, rev. naked man in a forest, kneeling to left, sculpting a nude female figure from a tree trunk with a hammer and chisel, other similar images at right, edge impressed sporrong, 80mm, 468.75g (Hackl 111; cf. Holmasto 160, 907; cf. Gorny/Mosch 226, 4450). Extremely fine; in blue fitted box of issue £90-£120

Edition of 300. The Gösta Serlachius Fine Arts Foundation was established in 1933 to build and maintain a museum in Mänttä. Named for Gösta Serlachius (1875-1942), a paper mill owner and patron of the arts, and designed to house his growing collection, it was not until August 1945 that his widow, Ruth, finally opened part of Joenniemi manor to visitors to see the collection. The manor was completed renovated in 1983-4 and re-opened on 1 June 1984

Within the UK
If you live within the UK, items will be despatched using Royal Mail Special Delivery. This service provides parcel tracking (via the Royal Mail website) and next weekday delivery (betwen 9am and 1pm). Items delivered within the UK are covered by our insurance company. Heavy and bulky lots will be sent by courier, in discussion with the client.
Outside of the UK
If the item/s being sent are worth under £1000 in total they are sent using Royal Mail’s Signed For International service. This ensures the item must be signed for when it is delivered.
If the item/s being sent are valued at over £1000 in total they will be sent using FedEx. This service allows next day delivery to customers in many parts of the US and parcels are fully trackable using the FedEx website.
