Purvis, 1st Battn. 30th N.I.) short hyphen reverse, officially impressed naming, edge bruise, otherwise good very fine £1,600-£2,000 --- Richard Fortescue Purvis was born at Wickham, Hampshire, on 4 January 1789, second son of Admiral John Child Purvis, R.N. A Cadet on the Bengal Establishment in 1803, he was appointed Ensign on 18 August 1804, and Lieutenant on 21 September 1804. Posted to the 21st Native Infantry in 1805, he took part in the operations in Bundelkhand 1809-12; Interpreter and Quartermaster 2/21st N.I., 1 July 1814; transferred to newly raised 1/30th N.I., 4 May 1815 to 1818. Served the second phase of the Nepaul War with 4th Brigade Centre Column under Ochterlony at Makwanpur; Brevet Captain, 1 January 1818; Captain 1820, retired 31 May 1820. Afterwards took Holy Orders as Deacon 1820, Priest 1821; was Vicar of Whitsbury, 10 March 1824 until death, and was appointed domestic chaplain to the Earl of Limerick in 1846. He died at the Rectory, Whitsbury, on 27 May 1868.

Within the UK
If you live within the UK, items will be despatched using Royal Mail Special Delivery. This service provides parcel tracking (via the Royal Mail website) and next weekday delivery (betwen 9am and 1pm). Items delivered within the UK are covered by our insurance company. Heavy and bulky lots will be sent by courier, in discussion with the client.

Outside of the UK
If the item/s being sent are worth under £1000 in total they are sent using Royal Mail’s Signed For International service. This ensures the item must be signed for when it is delivered.
If the item/s being sent are valued at over £1000 in total they will be sent using FedEx. This service allows next day delivery to customers in many parts of the US and parcels are fully trackable using the FedEx website.

Shipping Exceptions
Certain lots such as those containing glass or sharp implements, etc., may not be suitable for in-house shipping within or outside of the UK. Please contact Noonans with any queries.
