Title: Morning Reflections, Cavan (2003) Medium: Oil on Board Signature: Signed Lower Left and Titled Verso Provenance: Private Collection Framed Lot Description: Paul Kelly (b.1953), Morning Reflections, Cavan, oil on board, signed lower right. A tranquil riverside landscape bathed in soft morning light, depicting a solitary figure fishing on the banks of a calm, reflective river. The surrounding woodland, rendered in warm autumnal tones, is mirrored on the glassy surface of the water. Kelly’s delicate brushwork and subtle colour palette capture the peaceful atmosphere of rural Cavan. Presented in a cream frame with gilt slip. Image: 24 x 34 cm.; Framed: 47 x 58 cm. PICTURES AND PRINTS Tuesday 16th September 2025 21:16:40 Biography PAUL KELLY (B. 1968) Paul Kelly was born in Dublin in 1968 and began drawing and painting from an early age. Entirely self-taught, he works in a traditional pre-impressionist style using both oils and watercolours. He is particularly known for his depictions of north County Dublin, capturing its bustling fields, market gardens, and small harbours. Kelly travels widely across Ireland seeking inspiration and has also painted during trips to Morocco, Prague, Budapest, and Venice. He has held numerous successful solo exhibitions, including sell-out shows at the Gorry Gallery in Dublin and the Killarney Art Gallery, and participates regularly in selective group exhibitions nationwide. Kelly has exhibited frequently at the Royal Hibernian Academy in Dublin, where he was awarded the James Kennedy Memorial Award for portraiture in 1991.
