Biography
JOHN BEHAN RHA (B. 1938)
John Behan is one of Ireland’s most acclaimed contemporary sculptors, celebrated for his monumental public works and smaller bronzes that often draw on themes from Irish history, mythology, and maritime tradition. Born in Dublin, he studied at the National College of Art and Design and Ealing Art College, London. A founding member of the Project Arts Centre and the Dublin Art Foundry, Behan has exhibited internationally and his works are held in major public and private collections worldwide.
