A tranquil rural scene depicting a traditional whitewashed thatched cottage nestled beneath a large tree, with hens foraging in the foreground and soft sunlight filtering through a hazy sky. Executed in Egginton’s characteristically delicate and naturalistic style, the composition conveys a nostalgic and serene view of the Irish countryside. Mounted and framed in a textured gilt frame with cream double mount. Image: 37 x 52 cm. Framed: 55.5 x 74 cm. Known for his sensitive and atmospheric views of the Irish countryside, especially in Connemara and Donegal, his works are celebrated for their delicate colour washes and compositional clarity. Egginton exhibited regularly at the Royal Hibernian Academy and his works remain popular among collectors of traditional Irish landscape painting.
