BRIAN MACMAHON (B. 1955)
Born in Tralee, Co. Kerry, Brian MacMahon is widely associated with a bold, impasto-driven approach to painting that draws heavily from the west of Ireland’s visual and emotional landscape. His subjects—often cottages, coastlines, and rural figures—are refracted through a visceral, intuitive style. Trained at the Limerick School of Art, MacMahon developed a distinctively Irish expressionist language over the decades
