McCaig (b.1929), Ebb Tide, oil on board, signed lower left. A quietly atmospheric harbour scene at low tide, capturing the stillness of moored vessels reflected in the calm water beneath a soft, overcast sky. The foreground features scattered driftwood and detritus along the receding shoreline, drawing the viewer into the depth of the composition. McCaig’s restrained palette and fluid brushwork evoke a moody, reflective quality, characteristic of his maritime subjects. Presented in a distressed white and grey frame with slip. McCaig has exhibited widely across Ireland and the UK, and his paintings are held in numerous private and corporate collections.
